SAÔNE, RHÔNE, and US
Presentation
SAÔNE, RHÔNE, AND US is the photographic exhibition that retraces the Saône 2 Rhône scientific research campaign , carried out by the Juste 2°C association.
This expedition, spanning four months aboard a boat converted into a laboratory , from March to June 2024, allowed Apoline, Valentin, Jean-Loup, and Amandine to explore and study the Saône and Rhône rivers in all their facets. From the source of the Saône to the Rhône delta, their journey was punctuated by some twenty stops in diverse cities, from the metropolis of Lyon to small towns often unknown to the general public.
Biology, chemistry, anthropology, geography and sociology are all disciplines that were mobilized during this expedition to better understand, at the crossroads of these different approaches, how societies inhabit the Saône and the Rhône.
Saône 2 Rhône also involved a campaign of interventions in schools that followed the project from beginning to end, and meetings with residents of the towns where the boat docked. By bringing the laboratory to the towns it passed through, the project aimed to anchor research as close as possible to the people and share the scientific approach as a tool that can help us grasp the complex environmental challenges we face today.
At the crossroads of research, education, and awareness-raising, Saône 2 Rhône is a rich experience of encounters and discoveries , where research has bridged the gap between these students and those who live daily along the Saône and Rhône rivers. It's SAÔNE, RHÔNE, AND US .
